I live in Scotland and, last year, was told explicitly by haematology department that I wasn't any more vulnerable to Covid than people without an MPN (I have PV). This is around the time we were being advised that we should be in group 4 for vaccine.
Currently, on venesections and aspirin only. My question is, has anyone in a similar position to me, who lives in Scotland been contacted regarding a third vaccine dose? Or has anyone tried to push for one.
Hope everyone is doing well, despite the trying circumstances we are all living in.
Regards
Liz

Thanks Eleanor, don't really want to make a fuss, just wandering what's happening with other people like me, and whether their consultants/GP team are getting in touch with them.
I received my letter for 3rd vaccine, advising me I was categorised as immunosuppressed. I was not advised to shield at any point during the last 18 months. Got the Moderna vaccine and flu jab. I'm ET Jak2+ on HU.
Hi Liz. I'm in Scotland too and not heard anything yet, but it seems fairly patchy depending on where you live - see my earlier post: healthunlocked.com/mpnvoice...
I have Myelofibrosis, whilst the condition itself may not suppress the immune system, the drug I am taking Jakavi Ruxolitinib, does suppress the immune system, so I am classed as immune vulnerable, and just had 3rd jab and will get a 4th in 6 months time. I live in Wales.
Thanks Andrew, I'm guessing the drugs you take make a difference. I'm not on any, except the ones I take since I had a heart attack (many years ago now)
Hi there. I was told the same as you but last week had 3rd covid jag. Leaflet stated it was because I was in the category for it- a different leaflet from the one my husband received. I too am in Scotland and have PV .
My husband has PV. We’re in the Western Isles of Scotland and he got his 3rd vaccine on 1 October. We have a small population/ health board and I must say our service and care has been excellent. Hope all goes well with you!
