Yesterday, I posted that my hubby had been called for his Covid ‘Booster Vaccine,’ as the text he received clearly stated ‘Booster’. However, after reading the Government link below and to prevent any misunderstanding, I am now convinced it must actually be the ‘Third Primary Dose’ for the severely immunocompromised, as he fits the stated criteria for methotrexate dose (25mg) and also prednisone (7.5mg) in combination therapy.

Reading that leads me to suppose that most of us won't qualify for a third primary dose. My sister - on methotrexate - will I'd imagine and those of us on rux or perhaps pegasys.
Some of the specified conditions seem to pretty rare, "Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia" for example - two reasons why I'm glad I haven't got that:- one, it's nasty, and two, I couldn't pronounce it in order to explain to anyone what was wrong with me!

Hi Katie, I personally cannot comment on that.However, it does state somewhere in that link that Specialists should advise GPs of whether patients fulfil the criteria of both receiving a third dose and ‘timing.’
My hubby is five months out from his last AZ vaccination and the ‘third dose’ today will be Pfizer.

I qualified in the US for a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine which I had about three weeks ago. It is the same vaccine i received in February. I had the same reaction to this dose as I did after the second dose i.e. 24 hour aches, fever, headache. And then all was well.

"It is expected that severely immunosuppressed inviduals will become eligible for a booster dose as part of a routine booster programme from around 6 months after their third primary dose, pending further advice."
The treatments we receive for blood cancers are by definition immunosupressant,
So ipso facto we qualify - as Blood Cancer UK have stated - then we will be getting the third jab plus the booster in due course. Remember though that the stats in the various reports indicate that we may well still be at risk as response is very variable and on the low side or even non-existent for many ....
So keep your fingers crossed for the PROVENT antibody trial .... see

The Third Primary ISN'T the booster. My sister vaccinates and said they are different things. Also, Russia Today said the confusion over this was dangerous. I needed a Third Primary, but couldn't risk waiting for the booster, so I had that yesterday
If you have Pfizer, the dose is 0.3mls whether you are having a third primary or a booster. Maz and prof Harrison have confirmed this.
