Really happy to have just got my first vaccine appointment for Friday. I have post ET MF, on Ruxolitinib and wondering what to expect in terms of side effects. Anyone else with MF on Rux had it? Thanks.

Hey Jennie... :-)

Happy to hear that you are breaking trail for us here... As you may recall, I too am Post ET / MF and will be interested to learn how you fair with side-effects (after-effects etc?)

Apparently, most complain of some flu-like symptoms and some arm soreness after the jab, and that's about all I've heard so far...

However, you'll be the first one that I know who's on Ruxolitinib having the Pfizer vacc's...

So I'll shall be listening intently for your reports ...

It has long been my belief that only the Pfizer & Moderna vacc's would be most suitable for all of us w/ compromised immune systems, as they are not proteins derived by viral vectors, (they're NOT LIVE), in other words... 8-)

Keep us Posted please Jennie...

Very best wishes

Steve

Hi, I have post ET MF. I had the Pfizer vaccine on 13 January, no side effects whatsoever.I participate in the ONS Covid study so will be interested to see whether my next blood test under the study shows antibodies. (This will be a few weeks away as the results take a while to come through.)

Forgot to add that I'm on Ruxolitinib 15mg twice daily.

Glad you were able to get your first appointment. I’ve heard some people just get a sore arm the next day. It’s the second one that seems to be more worrisome, although I don’t know anyone personally that have had that one yet. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hi Otterfield,I have MF and have been on Ruxolitinib for about 12 months. I had my second Covid vaccine jab on 9th January. To date I have not had any side effects from either.

You should be fine. Stay safe.
