SECOND EYE OP

Wednesday I am getting my second Cataract Removed, The operation takes about 15 mins and it is an out patient operation so I will be back home for dinner. It is getting down to the clinic and returning home takes the time 130 miles return, that is quite far although having the operation means more to me than the distance it is

The last operation on the other eye was about six weeks ago and the left eye ha been fantastic

I cannot wait to get the tight eye completed, as my sight in this eye is getting really bad

Back Soon ??

The operating seats you sit in them and have initial treatment including some eye drops Jane, you are then taken into a surgery and they go through the treatment more pain reduction. Then you are taken into the operating theatre and you face is covered and the seat is reclines, They ask before the operation if you cannot be reclined and a sort ofplastic sheet with a hole in it is placed so they can work on your eye, then a further injection I think it was a multiple injection

They start the operation you are awake and all you see is white lighting as they operarate. The op takes no more than twenty mins . You keep the eye patch on and dressings on until next morning where is is taken of at home before breakfast. Try not to worry Jane you will be asked regards your condition in reception before they proceed and as said before they can help with positioning before the op.

You will have the use of the operated eye next day, although you will need to keep the patch on when you go to bed and able to use the eye during the day

It is all dow to prevent you rubbing the eye when sleeping. You will be really suprised regards how improve your eye will be.

Very little pain

Yes You can see a real improvement twenty four hours or less after opThe first eye has really improved they aim at 20.20 and the first eye must be near to that, the colours are fantastic. The first transplant was for distance and it allows you to watch TV Next eye is for reading etc

Thanks, all the best

Tell us Thursday what is happening - good luck!!!

My eyes have been terribly sore this time I hate been experemented on

How are your eyes now?

Both fine and now seem to be matching better. The pressure needed to be reset as the insert was fitted incorrectly. We will see how it goes in twelve weeks time if not ok will need to operate again on the last implant
