Is it necessary to install a security system?

After my husband passed away, my daughter asks me to install a security system in my house to prevent burglars, fire, and maybe anything else. Why do I need it? I feel comfortable living without it. But she told me if I do not do it she will take me to her house. Could you please recommend any reliable companies that will be able to solve that issue and do not charge a lot? I heard about Ajax. Are they good enough? Also, does it worth it to pay for such products?

I am in the UK, and live in the countryside, for us we consider a system although we have no street lights and very little traffic and next doors look out for each otherIf you are in a town or city it may be a good idea, dependent on those people around you. Sometimes we need to follow families advice and go for it. The systems are not that complex and you can be attached to an emergency control who can contact the police if something goes wrong
