How long does it take for kick in please?

Hi all , I’m new to this group , I’ve been suffering for years with anxiety / depression but wouldn’t get help . So now I have they have prescribed steraline I’m getting headaches , blurred vision , rash . Is this normal ?

Unfortunately there's no single right answer ... they normally reckon on about 2 - 3 weeks for the effects to build... you might experience some odd side effects due to the meds -- some will pass, others might stick around longer.Hope you start to feel better soon... stick with them for a while ... it's hard to know when they've kicked in -- but slowly you start to more normal again ... does help if you can have some counselling too alongside the meds

Welcome Kath, allow five weeks to get the medication in your system, this should lead to the side effects becoming less. Your Doctor may increase the dose in the near future.

I would take a look at the information in the packet at the side effects. Things like blurred vision and a rash you are normally advised to seek medical advice.
