Just started Venlafaxine - what should I expect

After years and years of being on Escitalopram (with spells of Setraline and Citalopram prior to that) I recently tried Mirtazapine but it seemed to just knock me out so I came off that pretty quick. As I am very, very low at the moment I went back to the Docs to ask for something new and he recommend Venlafaxine. So far only 1.5 days in but would be glad to know what experience people have of this drug.

Many thanks.

This is off topic from what you want to know, but most people will build up a tolerance to the sedative side of mirtazapine. I don't know how fast you came off it, but it took me about a week to adjust to the initial tiredness.

Never tried venlafaxine myself. Some people say it has worked for them; however, it has a reputation for brutal withdrawal symptoms and "brain zaps" if you miss a dose.
