What Should I Do?

Over the last 36 hrs, been through every emotion possible & done the biggest thing for me: went all the way to another county for training for a new job by train all by myself & back in 1 day

Now I find myself in a position where I have to provide a 5 yrs work history & they're gonna do my references before I cran start work, yet I've been offered 2 shifts & said yes to them

Should I say no thanks to this job even though it's what I want & look for something else or wait & see what happens?

It is much the norm nowadays to offer the post subject to references and other checks. If you can wait a week or so, especially as it is a job you want, I would wait and see what happens X

Good luck 🍀🍀

Thanks, started training today & it went well, but left my last job a wk early than I should have plus had a long time off not long after going full time, could this be held against me?

Honestly, I don't know. My sick record is horrendous and I have just started looking for work again and I have the same concerns. Leaving your job a week earlier than you should have - have you got a good explanation; if so they shouldn't hold that against you but I would hope that everything is taken on a case by case scenario and if you do well with the training and have used the opportunity to show that you would make a valued employee they hopefully won't worry about the past. After all it's happened and not with them.

It felt like they were pushing me to go early plus a series of new & stupid rules that came out that day, I'd just had enough

Training went well & the feedback I had from yesterday was very good indeed, hopefully today will be as well

hi just make sure you get paid the full amount for the two day trial lots of companies ask for 5 year history don't worry about that.

OK, already asked for it, so just gotta wait for it to arrive as on my application, I had to guess some of the dates, but got the mnths right

Thanks, I am going for it & really enjoying it, if things go like they say it's gonna be something great despite having to mention my health issues

Hi HeroOfTime, and thank you for your post. I just wanted to say well done and congratulations on your good news. As Missy_D has posted, especially as it is a job you want, wait and see what happens. All the very best with this and do let us know how you get on.

Thank you and best wishes.

Thanks, went very well indeed today & got a few more shifts with the plan to getting me onto a steady shift pattern real soon. I really want this to work as feel positive about it

Give it a go and see how it goes, As long as you are not going to fling the baby out with the bathwater, loose a position you are in at this time,

Of course you need to be payed and also confirm what the future holds for you with this new position. You seem keen, it is a job that has given out positive vibes, the position seems to have all the things you will expect to be happy.

It's a job I always wanted, but had to wait for until I had the experience to apply for it again. The trainer reckons I'm gonna do very well
