Have you seen drugs in mental health centres?

I'm new here, so I am sorry if I am bothering anyone. My question is for anyone who has been admitted or stayed overnight on a mental health unit in the UK. I would like to know if you have seen patients doing drugs on the ward, or on the premisses. I am filming a report focused on this issue as I may have some evidence this happens. Now I want to talk to everyone who has experienced/seen this happen and to get your take on the situation. You can remain anonymous in the film. Thank you very much!

There should be study on how disabled user and mental health user rights are constantly abused - they are not given information medical to education, not learning to write, read and etc and support they get and abuse - no water or not right food, tasty or healthy in residential/supported living care home, etc doctor ignoring physical condition of client of mental health patient so much so they die when complaining of chest/breathing problems and such cases in mental health hospital. The support for health condition and mental health, or lack of

Hello @indervir, this film is being done to better mental health centres not to destroy them. Thank you!

It's a while since I was last in a MH unit, but there were patients with addictions in the unit, I'm sure some had drugs brought in, and others were taking replacements like methadone. I personally self administered my meds (i have several physical conditions requiring medication), I could only have a days supply at a time but people passing me might have thought I was taking drugs.

There is a strong link between booze and drug abuse and mental illness, I would think it unrealistic to believe there are no drugs on a unit. Patients are just that, patients, they are not prisoners. We may not have the liberty to leave the unit for our own safety, but patients are adults and can usually make their own decisions good or bad.
