Speaking and moving so slow other people have noticed

My colleagues at work are great! However, a few people have noticed that talk and move very slowly around the office. One colleague joked about how I mumble today, I found this hard to respond to as I wasn't sure if she would understand.

I do suffer with depression, have trouble remembering things, on a lot of medication and I have therapy tomorrow.

I'm not sure if the 'mumbling' is a symptom of depression. I don't realise I'm doing it and other people have noticed. Does anyone else have the same problem? Thanks:)

You have a therapy tomorrow explain to your Therapist what you find yourself doing and how it is affecting your attitude at work also how those around you respond.

We do not know your age or if you are disabled, in my case with my physical disability I have the same problem although in my case it is all down to Chronic Disability.

However I have seen the same practice in the past, on Mental Health Wards and there I would defer judgement. and consider medication strength, or old age. It also happens in Residential housing for old, infirm ?

Depending on your medications and what you are taking sometimes we can lose concentration and also slow down, my Wife mumbles and does not take medications, it drives me mad in the nicest possible way.

Write out a list and explain when you see your Therapist, if the problem is down to medication your GP will be informed and a recommended change may be made

Let us know how you get on
