I was on 20mg of fluoxetine which wasn’t working after a bad blip. My dose was increased to 30mg and I was feeling better but now it’s just over three weeks and I’m feeling just like I was at the start? Feeling hopeless and scared

Fluoxetine three weeks
Hi blueskyjess3, I am sorry to hear things are so difficult for you. I would suggest you speak to your GP to discuss how you are feeling. Things will get better with time. It may be a good idea to discuss with your GP about the possibility of being referred to Talking Therapies, as some counselling, cognitive therapy, or support groups may be of help. Please also see the following website--
mind.org.uk for further information
Mind also has an advocacy service that may be able to support you.
Perhaps mindfulness, relaxation techniques and doing things that interest you may also be helpful? Please see your GP to begin with and have a look at the Pinned Posts on the forum which also may be of help. Are any other members able to help blueskyjess3, please?
Thank you and best wishes.
Hey blueskyjess3 I'm almost 6 months clean of fluoxetine.
Do you have any problems or worries in your life at moment? If so then these maybe causing you distress inside....
I think for me I had a bad breakup and didn't deal with it well...i turned to alcohol for 2 yeas everyday but managed to hold a job down mostly...in time I began to heal by listening to mindfulness things...being quiet...seeing selected friends who could help...and importantly listen...
I tried to address why i was self-destructing...
Its about letting go of your worries etc moving on for you if you have worries...there is light at the end of the tunnel for you...
slow down your mind...think on your health...
maybe a good way to think on things is...if you were looking outside into your life... what would you tell that person (yourself) to try help them...? if this makes sense. What things are causing them (you) hurt...
Sometimes meds take a few weeks to kick in - It helps if you can talk to someone also.
I liked to watch Coach Corey Wayne on youtube. He's got some good videos on depression etc and indeed life.
Also I strongly recommend you try talk about your feelings....with a professional.....also exercise - it doesn't have to be the gym but walking with some music or getting involved in a group activity..crossfit...or .meetup.com has many activities around the world in cities etc
Hope this helps and you are not alone ok?
