I have been on fluoxetine for about 20 yrs and I haven’t had any problems at all. I think you should go back to your dr at see what he duggests there lots of different anti depressants so the dr hopefully will find one that suits you and works

Hi, I started fluoxetine just over 4 weeks ago and yes the side effects were awful for me too: I felt so much worse and was incredibly scared of some of the things and thoughts I was experiencing. I read posts here and was reassured several people have been through this. I found it hard to believe that it would get better and was tempted to stop. My doctor reassured me it was normal and I would say it is definitely easier now with most side effects waning and starting to feel much more calm. It is a medication that can take some time to work and I wasn't prepared for how scary it can be. Talk to your doctor and see what they say, it is different for everyone but hopefully we will get through this. My thoughts are with you

20mg, and taking alongside a beta blocker to tackle dome of the initial side effects

Lexapro has less side effect and is a very potent antidepressant, call doctor to switch you. I didnt tolerate Fluoxetine either.

Hi sunshine. I am reluctant to start all over again as i do t feel like i can go through all this again. How long did u try the fluoxetine for before you switched? Xxx

You really can stop one and start the other one 24-48 later since both are SSRIs it won't be a problem. In fact fluoxetine is really old I can't believe doctors still prescribe it

Fluox takes a while to get out ur system so is 1 of if the easiest to stop taking which is part of the reason iv been given it. I have heard bad things about lexapro aswel to be honest so i dont no what is for the best xxx
