Sometime in the next three weeks I will be moving from my home of the last 35 years to a new condo. I have mixed feelings about it. It had to happen as caring for my house has become impossible for me and the condo is on one floor and no outside work. I choose this and I'm looking forward to it, however, I know there will be days when I will miss the old place. To help myself adjust I'm taking some of the old place with me. I have cut branches from every tree I planted, painted them and put them in a jar. It makes me feel good to look at it. I'm also taking some large rocks, mostly flat ones, which I will wax and sit flower pots on. Most of my decorating involves nature and books. I have bowls of stones, arrow heads, shells, and lots of baskets. This year I'm going to collect nuts. I may paint them , or some of them. Pam

TRYING TO AVOID DEPRESSION as moving day approaches.
Hi sweetiepye how are you keeping I see your moving soon I wish you well in your new house! Not talked to you for ages I hope everything's OK! Please take care david
Hi David, It's complicated...we sold our house to our son. We are living with him and his family until the condo is ready. His wife doesn't see my charm and that's where the complication sets in. We are both counting the days. Other than that I have been better than I have been for some time.
More good than bad in my life at present and that hasn't always been the case. I wish the same for you my friend. Pam

Look at you change with a positive attitude, moving on I feel is part of life where we learn from new experiences in our life. Leaving our homes especially after so long can be a great wrench. In my case our old house was built for my Grandfather in 1931 and the deeds had played a part in our family until we moved three years ago. Three generations with the same initials, name.
All I can suggest is you look at your move as a positive change where your lives have started a new interest.
Whenever you finally move remember you have people here who will help and support you through this very taxing time for the both of you and eventually you will both feel the move was right for you both.

Thank you for that encouragement.
Hi, We sold our house that we had lived in to our daughter and family 6 months ago. Luckily we moved to our new small one storey home right away. The old house was too big and needed money spending on it and we are very happy in our new, small home. We still live in same area and don’t regret the move. We are mid 70s so have to think of the future.
Good luck, I am sure you will enjoy the condo as so easy to keep clean and tidy x
That's really cool, sweetiepye. Best wishes in your new place - may you find peace and love there.
moving is one of the things that cause us most anxiety mine have been a nightmare.best thing to do though is get a checklist and make sure you go through everything just to give you peace of mind.
What a great idea ! Moving on is so so difficult especially when you have been somewhere that long. I wish you love and peace and hope that everything goes well for you.
