Stop hating myself

How can I stop hating myself and start loving... ha! I would take liking myself. Anyway I’m sick of hating myself and seeing myself in the mirror. Any self help to stop this? This self hate is holding me back and causes so much anxiety.

Hi,

Can you give us a little more information about why you hate yourself? Is it the way you look, the way you act, exactly what bothers you about yourself?

A lot...physically I can pick myself apart. Not just my weight. I am overweight tho and it’s a constant struggle cus I use food to feel better. I constantly think about decisions I’ve made and things I coulda shoulda woulda. In short I’m an over thinker

Same here. I can fully sympathize. Well, I know all about the food, believe me. What I do is try to cut just ONE type of food out at a time. I'm a VERY BIG sweet eater. Can't live without them. So let's say ice cream, which is my go to dessert at night, -I just stopped buying it totally. It's only one thing, but it's filled with calories. We all know that diets don't work. Yes they work part time. But no one can live with deprivation for their entire life. It's a whole mindset of eating healthy, which sad to say, I have NEVER mastered. But go very slowly and steadily. I KNOW you want all the weight gone by next week, ( don't we all), but we set ourselves up for failure that way. My problem is an all or nothing mentality. So Im either starving or stuffing.🙄 NOT a good way to be. I wish you luck on your journey! And DON'T let people around you tempt you with food. Whether it be friends, family, co-workers, etc. Do this for you and you only. Good luck!! Start with the weight loss, and with that, ( or after that) you can start working on the other things that you do not like about yourself. Baby steps is key!!! 😊
