So after I told my mom about my adrenaline surges, she said, “it’s a catch 22 because one part of me says we should get this medically checked out, but the other says to wait until after you’re in the military because they’ll take care of it for you.” And in my mind I’m freaking out because I have a secret appointment today with my doctor to get diagnosed. She’ll be so disappointed in me..

You are right to make an appointment with your doctor and get things checked out. I am sure your Mum just wants the best for you, so hopefully you will feel able to share things with her too.

Hello tripster, I would think decisions about your health would be yours to make. You may want your Mothers opinion, but you shouldn't feel she'll be disappointed in you if you don't agree on a solution. You might want to find out what you're in for if you go into the military . They may pay for your health care but they will also decide the who, what, and where of it. They may also discharge you in certain situations as they have to be able to depend on you. Pam
