Apparently I’m on the maximum dose of sertraline which isn’t helping me at all - or if it is god knows how bad I would be feeling. My doctor just palmes me off with a sick note which I have taken reluctantly but I need to get back to work.
I used to take these tabs at night but I’m thinking I’m wasting most of the dose being asleep - I’ve changed to morning doses - do u think this will make a difference??
They won’t try me on anything else while I am so bad as I would have to wean off these and wean into something else instead and start at a low dose which probably won’t touch me.
Anyone any help how I can help myself to get better quickly - went back to work after 3 weeks and relapsed so now need to make sure I’m right before going back again

Thanks for your message, It does sound as if you are having a difficult time at the moment.
Is it worth asking your doctor for a medication review, hoping that they will be able to make alternative suggestions? Your pharmacist might be able to help with your question about the timing of the dose.
It sounds as if you are working hard on this, so hopefully you can get back to work feeling better soon
As you know our members might have more advice and information to help with your question.
My own opinion for what it is worth is that antidepressants are overused and overrated probably because of all the money to be made in the pharmaceutical industry and peoples need for "an answer" to what is probably just the stress of modern day life.
It's difficult to give advice over what you should do because you don't explain what precipitated or caused this depression or did it just come out of the blue? Changing from evening to morning is something your pharmacist could maybe advise on.
Sometimes to be fair it is an imbalance in the brain and AD's can help but if it is a life situation then the best solution would be talking to whoever is the cause of the issue or just accepting that sometimes we are just sad or stressed because of this sad and stressful age we are living in.
Maybe work would be the "best medicine" for you right now if you can cope. There's always a balance to be found between needing to get back to work and needing to "get right". Could there be anything like a "phased return" for you? ie doing shorter hours for a while before you commit to going back full time?
