Do you know the reason your father got angry with you? I am also on the Thyroid section of healthunlocked and the forum members are really excited about a new form of healthcare / medicine called Functional Medicine. Basically it looks at the whole body, what the person is eating, what state their vitamins, minerals, iron etc are in their body. For example if have very low levels of vitamin D, all the B vitamins, iron, minerals magnesium & zinc particularly, we get depression, anxiety, paranoia. I have watched a youtube about Functional Medicine and epilepsy. Our brains are made from 80% fat, so all this publicity about eating a low fat diet (or they say we will get fat and have heart disease) is a load of tosh. Our brains need 'good fats' to function properly. Please try cutting out ALL grains; grains (wheat, oats, rye, barley, etc) are a form of grass. Cows eat grass but they have three stomachs to digest it; we only have one stomach! Also cut out as much sugar as you possibly can. With grains which are carbohydrates and sugar our blood spikes up after eating it, then our body has to work hard to reduce it down. If this keeps happening through the day, it's wasted energy & will eventually get an illness. Add as much good fat - like full fat milk, real dairy cream, real unsalted butter, olive oil, plain bio yoghurt, any nuts, any cheese, oily fish (my favourite is tinned mackrel), avocados, any real meat (not sausages or ready meals), any fish, eggs, any vegetables and pour melted unsalted butter onto them, any salad & have either olive oil or mayonnaise (not low fat) on it, can even eat bacon & eggs. I eat Lindt high cocoa chocolate (not milk chocolate), drink a mug of full fat milk with proper cocoa powder in it (not drinking chocolate as it's 75% sugar). We are what we eat. Good luck x
Hi Sadgirl 123, and welcome to the forum. Try taking some deep breaths and breathing out slowly. If you are experiencing difficulty with breathing, it is important to seek medical help without delay. Go to your nearest Accident and Emergency Department. Is there someone with you at the moment, as you sound upset? Please stay on the forum where you will receive help and support from other members. You are not alone. If you are feeling distressed, please call The Samaritans Freephone 116 123 24 hour helpline 7 days a week. They provide a listening ear. Take care and best wishes.
Hi sadgirl123. I suffered a TBI some years which left me an unstable epileptic. I can have up to 4 GM Szs a week as well as 16 Partial Seizures. Ok it meant I had to stop doing certain things but that made me look for other ways a to do stuff or find alternative ways to carry on with usual tasks. Work hasn't changed for me. I just travel by train/plane/etc. Instead of driving. It may sound a bit thick but try & embrace your E. It's certainly not the end of the world - & a great way of getting out of things you don't wanna do!!
