So I'm 18, I've been struggling with a lot of mood changes since I was 15-16, but I could always manage it and it didn't interrupt my relationships or education, but lately they're quite severe, e.g. I was drinking every day quite heavily, had an affair, spent enormous amount of money all of a sudden (compared to my paychecks) for example one day I felt like I needed to get out of the country and the next day I was in Cardiff for few days with a friend, there wasn't a moment when i was sober (I payed her expenses too, altogether 400 pounds) or randomly change hair colours, get a tattoo or piercings, travelling or spending it on random stuff (all 100 pounds or over), getting a new pet, have new interesting plans for my life, I'm over the moon (but quite irritated if someone says no) etc. The depressive episodes are quite 'normal' although I've been thinking about suicide, I quit my job with no back-up plan, so I'm stuck now with 2 part time jobs and college (which I rarely attend), my relationships with my family, friends and boyfriend became very poor. My family has a history of mental illnesses, but they've never been diagnosed properly. I feel like if this goes on, it can permanently damage my future life , I'm going crazy and I'm trying to get help but don't know where to start, I need to find a new gp as well, but I'm not sure how they can help.. Can anyone please tell me how this process works? I'd be highly appreciated, thank you

Hello Lidia999

Thank you for your post and welcome to this community.

It sounds as if you are having a very chaotic and difficult time. If you do have any friends or possibly someone at work or college that you can talk to this may be helpful.

Our members are supportive and may want to offer you more support and advice.

It may be important for you to find a GP to discuss your situation with. If you need more immediate help there is a list of crisis helplines to the right of this message on the pinned posts.

The Samaritans have a 24hr Freephone number 116 123

There is also the MIND organisation that you can contact mind.org
