Hi Misunderstood2000 and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to read that things are difficult for you at present. Please do not believe that you aren't "good enough" because you are. I think we all have subjects that we find a bit difficult. You will get there with help and perseverence. Please believe that you are valued. Could you start working on an area of maths that you find easier to begin with, to try to re build your confidence? One to one teaching also helps a lot where more support is needed. There is also a lot of good information on line. Think about the subjects you find easier. This will help your confidence too. It may be a good idea to talk to your parents and teachers. They will be able to help and advise you. You may like to ask if there are any maths clubs or homework clubs you could join. We can only do our best. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. Keep working at it and you will succeed. Remember to do some fun things, too. Let us know how you get on. Good luck and best wishes.
Hi you are not stupid because you don't understand maths very well. I have a degree in Social Science but never could understand or do maths and could never even get an 'O' level in it.
I am a lot older than you but to this day still find maths a total puzzle. Some people's brains aren't wired that way but with work and application you should be able to pass an exam. It's just a lot harder for some of us than others. x
its so easy for us to let one area that we are not so good at affect the way we see ourselves. You may find maths hard, but like others have said I am sure you are great at other things. Im guessing you need maths for the job you want do you??? If so you will get there- it may take you longer than others but if you want to succeed eventually you will. Do it in little bits, maybe sit one module a year and take it slowly. Have you any friends who like maths that might be able to help? maybe they oculd help you with maths and you could help them in some other way? Don't let maths affect your whole life, you are still a wonderful person who has much to offer, focus on what you can do well - maybe even make alist of the things you are good at and when you start to feel down read the list to yourself. Good luck
Hi missunderstood2000, you must be feeling overwhelm and hopeless right now and I am not here to calm you down or tell you that there is hope.
I just want to tell you that Maths is just one branch of intelligence that every normal people wants to be good in. However, there are other eight branches of intelligence that you are probably really good at in comparison to other people who are only good at maths.
So, why try to be normal when you know you are special? Just do the best you can!
