just joined and i feel like i am getting no where through my depression .

Hello Lawrence. I've been there. Years of depression and at moment I'm having a respite/recovery. So I can tell you it does get better. You need time and support to heal. It does take more time than people expect usually as the illness has been untreated for years before you sought help through doctor etc. Don't give up, it's ok to feel the way you do. Even if you can't see it now, things will change. If it helps post more on your situation as others have been through similar and can help. Take care of yourself. X

Hello Lawrence, I've been there too.... our illness takes time to heal and can have many setbacks. I have great days and ruddy awful days. I've learnt through CBT that these feelings will pass, and to endorse myself for the smallest positive task. You wrote to us on here, say well done to you as it's good to keep contact with other people. Break your day into half hours or hours if you can....see what you can achieve. Allow yourself time to rest and recovery...sitting watching tv is giving you a break from it all...say well done me! Please know you're not alone and we're all on this path of recovery together.

It just takes time I guess, Lawrence. Reduce your daily speed of doing things & if there's a task that you don't wanna do don't do it! Remember Max Ehrmann's Desiderata - "Go placidly amidst the note and the and remember what peace three may be in silence ...."
