Anytime i think about the future i want to cry thinking theres no point to life, im getting uglier from aging, i wont be a good parent bc i have no energy, i think i picked the wrong career & im gonna be miserable and fail terribly this year, i have no friends, never had friends, incapable of making friends & keeping them my entire life.

Hello. Lots of people feel the way you do.

You have a lot of fear about the future. A CBT therapist would describe your thoughts as catastrophical. This is when the thought becomes always the worst potential outcome. It can be a symptom of unhealthy thought patterns from depression. It's kinda logical to think that because things are bad now they will be worse in the future.

I've done it myself.

Now I could give you all sorts of advice but I'm simply going to say that. You are responsible for your life. You may aren't responsible for other people's actions or behavior which have caused you pain. But you can alter how you deal with that. You can't change others but you can alter.

In order to mature as a person you need to go through bad stuff and learn how to protect yourself from it.

You need to stop valuing yourself through other people. That's a huge mistake in life. You have worth.

People are inconsistent if they are selfish in a negative way. Friends may come and go because of this characteristic in themselves.

You however need to be selfish in a positive way. Which means looking after yourself and loving you. Only then can you be happy. That self love should never depend on any ones view except your own.

We all have flaws and talents. You need to recognise those in your self and accept them. Build up your weak points and use your strengths. Try to get balance.
