You have an illness that requires constant management. Acceptance of this fact helps enormously. So now you have to adopt the stradegies that worked for you before this meltdown. Please try not to beat yourself up about this.

I struggle with shopping especially when it's busy, I often go first thing in the morning or early evening as it's a bit quieter, no one is normal, everyone has something that makes them different. I need to have something in my hands that I can fiddle with when I start to stress, we all get worse before we can get better, keep going and find a way to cope when out. We are all here to help one another. Cyber hugs x

When you say you broke down what exactly do you mean? Were you crying, did you run? I can help you more if I know more. Been there done that. Pam

Phil, what thought patterns were going through your head before you broke down? SOMEthing triggered you.

Think back and work on what is emotionally troubling you by using all the tools at your disposal.

Best wishes!

What about on-line CBT therapies Phil? Something like Mood Gym.

You NEED to conscious of every negative thought you have so that you can challenge it with a positive one. This essentially is what CBT is about. Also, check your local library for books on CBT.

Keep us updated please Phil.

Peace.

Eh I didn't knw online cbt was available, if id known that id have done it ages ago. Thank you lizbett and everyone else.

If there was some way to get a petition or somthing up and running to increase research and help into mental health/depression/mood disorders then by god I would

Also Phil, if you have a smartphone or tablet, check out the appropriate store for CBT apps. Some of them are bound to be rubbish so check the reviews first.

Regarding the petition you can start one yourself. You just need to get it worded right , make copies and place in stores you visit. Assuming the stores are willing. Mental health is a global concern and yet no countries' politicians care enough to make the necessary changes. Gets me wild it does.

in reply toLizbett

I'm checking the apps as we speak, as for the petition, theres tons of stores/shops near me, is there any sites you know of to start a petition or something, nothing is more important, x Thanks liz

You're more than welcome friend ☺ No, offhand I don't know of any petition sites. Google how to start a petition ... there's bound to be something, somewhere.

You're a trooper you really are Phil, so give yourself a well deserved pat on the back!!

ive seen people, good friends die because of depression, which the government/authorities ignore, I have severe depression and dissoiative disorder but by Christ I'm not gonna loose my self or anyone else thru it, especially the friends ive made on this site because of ignorance, xxxxxx

Hi Phil Im sorry to hear about your problems. I find doing something creative helps take your mind off your issues. Depression is like a monster that grows in your mind and the more you think the way it wants you to the more it grows.

There is a petition site called change.org its good and gets things done.

I wish you luck

Hi Phil, don't know if this is any help but check out 38 degrees as they seem to set up loads of petitions ...I've certainly signed a few. Very best of luck x

Hi I'm abuot to setup a petition on 38 degrees and change.org but I need a title or smoothing for the petition, ideally I wuld love too have more research, help put into depression and mental health so if anyone has a catchy name for my petition let me know. thanks guys
