First Names

The not using first names bit has never been a problem on any HU site as far as I know. I think Themys was just advising on privacy, but if you lock your posts then most of it (and the replies) stays only in the community anyway. It might be an issue for those who don't lock them as the full post (and replies) can appear anywhere on the web.

To lock your posts make sure you click on 'community only' when you post as the default button is set to 'everyone'.

You should never give out personal details on a site which could enable anyone to trace you ie your full real name, address, email address, or telephone numbers. There are a lot of strange folk who use online sites as we all know.

I will look towards that as I feel the whole thing is very awkward.

I was pulled up on Private names that was why I was treat the way I was it was a full blown complaint by a member, I had to say sorry for something that was not fully explained. The complainant is here and I am very concerned if it happens again I am not going through that again three/four months is a long time. I will report if I have to

Hi Bob I have never seen the issue of using your private name being a problem anywhere! If you want to use your name then use it. I will continue to use mine... x
