had a phone discussion a couple of weeks ago with a mental health nurse and i'm now on a waiting list for a CBT group and a self esteem group......only problem is one is a 3 month wait and the other is a 6 month wait!!!!!!!! not sure i have the patience

That does suck but echoing Kinikia, do other things in the mean time.
You could;
1) join in conservations on this forum
2) do a bit (not too much) of research on CBT and compassion therapy
3) get a routine, I am just discovering how liberating structure can be
When you get to the CBT sessions, you may be better prepared or have even improved a bit which will make it easier to do the work.
If things are really getting too much and you need to put the breaks on, you can call Breathing Spaces, evenings and weekends to speak to a trained counsellor.
And like Kinikia said you have the sessions booked, they are yours and no one can take them away.
