Hello and welcome to the fold. Would you like to tell us a little about yourself and how you feel. We're all in the same boat, Kitewe. This is a great site if you're looking for understanding and even help. Myra.

Mentally exhausted, had 2 panic attacks last night, so my Dr said, it was awful, I thought I was going to die

Panic attacks and depression go together and do make you feel very tired physically. Do you know why you are panicking? Has this been happening for some time or is it just recent? You are seeing a doctor about it so this is good. Are you on medication? I have suffered from this for many years. The panics seem to have eased but I'm still clinically depressed. I don't feel bad all the time. It comes and goes. Are you the same? There is help for what you are going through and you have come to the right place here.

I will follow through with this but, for tonight, I must get to my bed now. I hope you get a good night's sleep. To be continued---- Myra.

Can you identify anything in particular which has brought this on? You don't have to tell me what it is but do you think you know the cause? Would you say you are a nervous person or someone who thinks deeply and takes things to heart? It may not even be one thing that is the cause but a long line of stressful situations going back some years giving you the "straw that broke the camel's back" effect. I think that is what it was with me. Are you easily reduced to tears? Sorry for all the questions but the cause needs to be thought about in order to look for something that will help you. Has your doctor given you any medication?

Im very strong willed person, but I lost my son last year who was 18 and disabled, then 6 Months later my hubby was diagnosed with a brain tumour (benigh) he was operated in Feb and still in hosp to date

OMG. No wonder you are suffering mentally. You need look no further for the reasons for your depression and panics. This is reaction to tragedy. I am so very sorry to learn of your recent traumas. You have gone through more in a short time than most people endure in a lifetime. Accept all the help your doctor offers you. Calming drugs such as Diazepam will be a useful short time medication. It is known to be addictive but not if used for a crisis situation only. It was an enormous help to me in the days following my husband's passing and dulled the pain when I needed it most. I am not a doctor but am speaking from experience. Right now, you need all the help you can get. My thoughts are with you. Myra.

Thank you very much, but my Dr doesnt want to give me sleeping/calming pills, I hv just started the medication for Depression for two weeks now, a low dose.

To top it up, I have two legal cases regarding my son, the 1st is been going on for 19 yrs now, as he was not born disabled, he had a heart surgery which went wrong so he was left didsabled, and the second case is about his death, although he had medical condition but his death was "unexpected"

He died in hosp!!

I'm glad to hear you have been given antidepressants. They will hardly have had long enough yet to start making a difference but after a few more weeks you should feel a lot better. Please let us here know how you get on--only if you wish, of course. You have had --and still have-- a heavy burden to carry. Myra.
