Help,
I am new here. I don't want to get depressed again. I am feeling blah, eating too much, and am not happy. I just want to be normal.

Hi Johanna123
A very warm welcome to our friendly Forum. Very pleased you've found us.
Lots of us go through periods of feeling low and eating too much, which we know doesn't help how we feel about ourselves but what you don't want is for it to escalate into depression if you can possibly help it. You said 'again' so I assume you have suffered depression before. How did you manage your low mood last time and is this the same pattern?
Chloe
Hi Chloe, I go outside, see friends, and just wait. I am on a low dise of meds. I don't know if I am sad because I miss my children. They live far away. I saw one last week, and now I have to wait three months.
Ah I see Johanna123 I don't know if this helps but this is quite common when you've just had a visit and the thought of having to wait a long time to see them again suddenly and naturally dips your mood. Maybe you could 'see' each other via Skype or something similar, it should help get you through.
Going outside, being in the fresh air, especially now the weather is better is great and staying in touch with friends is vital. I think you're doing all the right things and I hope your mood lifts soon.

Welcome Johanna123 to the site. You have pinpointed that you are eating too much which is great that you have recognised this. You can slowly address this by reducing your intake of food which will benefit you so much .. Easier said than done I know but is not impossible to do.
It was major PMS. I feel better now. I don't know why I don't think of that, I am so extremely depressed when I have PMS.
Hello Johanna124,
I also suffer severe depression with my PMS and when on my period. It's horrible.
I am on another HealthUnlocked forum called Premenstrual Madness. I find it helpful to be on there as well.
Do you track your cycle? I do. It helps me pinpoint issues and see if it's related to my cycle or not.
Also, I'm seeing a specialist soon for the PMS and hey always ask for cycle tracking.
Some women use antidepressants for bad PMS, have you considered this?
I'm not silently on any medication but need to go on something to help. It's just I've tried a few SSRIs for it in the past and I haven't liked the way they make me feel. But I've been doing my research and I'm thinking of only using an SSRI in my luteal phase which is from day 14 onwards. Current research and clinical data supports the fact that intermittent use of an SSRI or continual use produces the same results. So I am going to try it but only from day 14.
How you feeling now?
Best wishes 💗
Hi Clazzy78,
I am feeling all better now and so relieved that it was PMS and not regular depression. Let me know how it is going with the SSRI. How are you now?
Best wishes!!
I am not sure what to do. If I need more medication (I am on Wellbutrin) or if I need to change something in my life or just be content with how good I actually have it. I am not real bad, but also not real happy. Just blah!
I have a hard time being alone now (not normally when I am happy), but my friends are busy. My husband is very nice, but he talks a lot, and is not a good listener for sure.
