I started on Citalopram on 20th March and to date I have had a few side effects like dizzy/fuzzy head, headaches and still having sleep problems, but i'm not suffering from the spaced out feeling I had when I was on Fluoxetine. GP did warn me it will take a good few weeks for these tablets to take effect.
I'm having good days and bad days and at times feeling guilty for been happy/laughing, its not until you actually suffer from Depression do you realise how much it does change your life, thank god I have a loving family and a good friend who is always there for me when I need him.

My side effects included yawning constantly (like every 5 minutes), and tiredness mostly. When I went from 20mg to 30mg I was aggressive and hyper for about two weeks before it calmed down. Now I don't have any side effects.
Hi Rich, I started citalopram on 19th March. I'm on 20mg and still have sleep problems even though I'm on sleeping pills too. I have found that doing exercise gives me a better nights sleep, I find it really hard to motivate myself to do any exercise at the moment because all I want to do is stay in bed and wish the day away and I'm also exhausted from lack of sleep, so I get my family to go play badminton with me once a week, as that was something I really enjoyed in the past, so at least I get one decent nights sleep even if it's only 4hrs.
