Hope you are all well. I feel like i've lost my lust for life. I'm so tired all the time and i'm finding it hard to enjoy life and get enjoyment from the simplest of tasks. Do you think i need to up my dose from 50 mg or give it more time to work?

Hi Les, I'm not sure about your Meds as I have never been on that Med.

I would go back and talk to Dr. As he is the only one who is medically

Qualified to answer your question.

Losing your Mojo is hard but it's part if Depression , unfortunately,

You just have to do the best you can and I'm sure things will improve.

It can be a slow process getting well, try and get as much rest as you can,

And eat well.

I'm not sure what else to say except , stay strong and things will

Eventually get better.

Hugs

Hannah

Hi les ,

you do tend to lose interest in things when you are in a depression, I am the same at the moment. but I try to fight it and be a bit upbeat, I don't use meds but I would see my doc if I felt things where getting too much for me .

I totally agree with photogeek about it being a long struggle, we both have ways of taking our minds off the depression, I have my art and she has her photography ,it helps us in our fight.

maybe something like this would help you too ?.

Pete .

Thanks for the replies. Everything just seems like an effort the now. I'll speak to the doc and see what she says. It would be nice to get into something for myself but time doesnt allow that at the mo with the two kids :) how are you both? X

Hi les.

I am well enough ,this morning, same old feelings of anxiety though!.

I was injured badly in an accident 8 months ago so I've had to cope on my own for all that time.

I feel depressed at the moment because I am now nearly recovered., and I will need to make maybe a life changing decision about starting in a different direction job

Wise ,as I don't think I can do the job I was doing before.

I am considering going to see my doctor about starting on meds.

But for now I try to get on with things as best I can.

A little tip for you if you need cheering up, healthuunlocked has many sites!, I use four of them, but on Saturdays and Sundays if you check out living with anxiety there's usually someone who will put on a quiz or go on a virtual trip somewhere ,it gets everyone together, and gets the cogs turning which tends to cheer you up

Why not try it ?.

Hi Les82! I to took sertraline for approximately 8 weeks and I must admit it wasn't a nice experience. I finally said to my doctor that I'd given the meds a fair chance but I wasn't willing to put up with how they made me feel well the doctor switched me over to citalapram and it was like a light switched on. Lethargy gone. Horrible side effects gone. Sometimes I get a headache with citalapram and feel a little nausea. But I can cope with this. Please chat to your doctor again as to feel so lethargic is horrible. xx

Thank you Pete, i'll have a look. Sorry to hear that you arent feeling 100% though. The sertraline has calmed me down but so much so that i dont want to do anything. A happy medium would be nice :) enjoy your day guys x

My experience. This medication takes 4/6 weeks to take effect I was 150 to notice the effect after 4 weeks.

Different medication effects different people. Think of length of time/dosage/type of drug.

This drug gets you of a hole, taken over time with the correct level of medication. BUT its a stop gap. It does resolve the long term causes. I took myself off, personally it puts you in a mental state that is normal. I wanted to think clearly. You can't underestimate. BACE. Body, Food, Regular exercise, sleep, rest. Achievement, Connection, Family, Community. Enjoyment. Personal Interests, What you enjoy,

CBT Changing our Thoughts, Feelings, Behaviours. Everybody has baggage BUT think of tomorrow as a clean/ new beginning. Best regrds Andy

Hi I take sertraline and started off on the 100mg dose. It wasn't really doing much for me so my doctor upped it to 150mg. I feel quite a lot better now. Go back and see your doctor and see if they think you should up yours. x
