Despite yesterdays embarrassing outing in chair, my mum insisted i went out again today to a national park area. i wanted to let you know that despite the awful bumpy and potholed path, i enjoyed it. people walking were pleasant and friendly, only had one stare today. meeting other people and dogs was brilliant, as i sadly list mibe two years ago.

Hi Clare I just had a peek at your last post and then saw this one. I'm glad things were better today. Hopefully this has given you the confidence to go out more now. (I think it also shows that the ones who were staring the other day are the ones with the problem.)
Gentle hugs,

Hello
Life does not need to stop just because we are disabled. Get out there and enjoy.
BOB
Thanks Bob, i am new to this so still trying to adjust.
Clare,
Good on you for going out again today after how you felt after the carnival yesterday. Those you met today seem to restore some faith that there are friendly people out there who want to be inclusive and are non judgemental. You have a lot of strength and should be proud of yourself.

Well done Clare - that is brilliant. You don't have to be a recluse just coz some people are rude gits! You have a life to live - get out there and kick ass girl xx
Thank you x
I'm grinning from ear to ear reading this. Glad the park was a better experience, somehow the countryside brings out a much better nature in people. Good on you --- and your mum too...
Claire that's great that you've been out again and are feeling more positive! Long may it continue x
Hi Clare .
I have had the occasion to use a wheel chair within the last six months after a car accident.
What annoyed me more about some people was, their ignorance towards me .
I used to use the free supermarket electric buggies when I was trussed up in a body brace and plastered leg.
What I found was some individuals would walk in front of me as if they were on another planet , and I was trying to drive and steer the damn contraption !.
I am now on the road to recovery and once recovered I will have a renewed knowledge of how it feels to be disabled.
It was nice to see that you enjoyed yourself in the national park .
I have recently started doing things like that, if my family offers, its good to get out and about in the sun I also love the countryside .
Nice one Clare, and well done!.
Don't let the stares get you down !, its just ignorance !.
Pete .
Hey Clare !, what a coincident I also went to Chester zoo the other week and I used a scooter,, mine was a giraffe !
Hope you enjoyed yourself and at least you are getting out and about .

Yes, i really enjoyed it. I loved the new giant otter enclosure and the fruit bats. Paying for it today though. Im exhausted and in pain with all my joints.
Hope you soon get over the pain, I am a little bit stiff today as I've been to the hospital and I don't think damp weather helps either , were did the sun go?.
Keep upbeat .
