Hi All now the meaning of being stoic is being calm without the showing of emotion.which is often used for dealing with the 21st century if your of an age where everything seems unfair and unjust.
Or are we just old fashioned and being of good morals and standards .
There is apparantly no place for the justification of ones self for the purpose of world problems .So instead of us getting angry and upset of the injustices in life we turn to stoicsm .
This makes all the difference to ones life ,where all the problems of modern society can be brushed off and ignored .And treated with the contemp it deserves.
Now im not saying all of our lives, all of the time. Just every now and again it feels this way .
This will help with the maintenanace of a positive outlook for our ,Mental health .

I wonder if it’s not just the case that some of us accept it because that’s what we do. To use that horrible expression we just, “suck it up “.
At 16 years I started military service for 22 years. The predominant view was that you do as you are told without question. You begin by marching up and down the parade ground for weeks on end until you follow the orders and work together as one.
You are told how to dress. In the summer it’s shirt sleeve order and even in the middle of winter if , “Routine Orders “, say it’s shirt sleeve orders, then you roll your sleeves up without question.
I never felt I was being Stoic. I felt it was my duty to do my best for myself and those who were with me. In return they did their best for me. Maybe it started when I was a cub age 8 and I promised to do my best for God and the Queen and to follow the cub law.
