Out of Nowhere always having stuffed up nose and sneezing

Hi all,

I've been dealing with a persistent issue over the last year, and I’m hoping to get some insights or advice from others who might have experienced something similar.

Every day, when I wake up and during the two hours that follow, I have an extremely runny and stuffy nose. The same thing happens at night when I’m feeling tired before going to bed. I've had hay fever in the past, but that was only during certain months of the year, and the symptoms lasted throughout the entire day. However, this current issue seems to be different.

Interestingly, I’ve noticed that getting more sleep sometimes helps reduce the severity of the symptoms, but even when I get around 8 hours of sleep, I still experience a lot of discomfort. The sneezing is especially intense—I often sneeze up to 10 times in a row.

This happens regardless of where I’m sleeping—whether at home, in a hotel, or at a friend’s house—so I don’t think it’s related to an allergy to something in my room.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? If so, what did you do to mitigate the problem?

Not experienced this but my advice would be to visit your doc. You may need to see an ENT specialist.

As I've gotten older, or perhaps as the climate has changed over the same period of time, I have gone from no allergies to constant year round allergies that involve extremely runny, stuffy sinus issues. Thankfully I don't have severe sneezing, at least not yet. I second Norwich1 in recommending a trip to your GP to get checked and make sure it isn't anything more severe.

Not what you're looking for?
