Oily fish, salmon, mackerel, sardines etc. certain nuts and seeds help with lowering cholesterol as well.Basically, look at your diet and make it healthier, cut out not just junk food, like crisps etc but try to reduce any highly processed foods.

Cook your own meals using healthy ingredients, fresh where possible, avoid corn oils, use olive oil.

You need to go on something (randomly name imo) the Portfolio Diet.

Link is here: healthline.com/nutrition/wh...

Or you can Google Portfolio Diet.

No worries. A point to note I saw this a programme on YouTube (originally on Channel 4, UK) called Food Hospital. With specialist doctors and nutritionists etc.

The person prescribed this diet did if for 8 weeks and was sitting at around 6.8. by the time they had their bloods done again they were back within a 'healthy range'.

Fair enough avoiding tablets as long as the benefits and risks have been discussed with you. Did your doctor not give you any dietary advice or even refer you to a dietitian?

Full credit to you for choosing nutrition before drugs! My dad was able to come off statins years ago after adopting a nutrition and lifestyle plan from a qualified Nutritional Therapist. His key ratios are good and most/all values better than when on statins. His total is about the same as before then but that's low at ~4. What's yours?
