I live at home, and tested positive for Covid 9 days ago, and did not isolate from my parents during this time. I am now testing negative, and have plans with my girlfriend this weekend. However, it turns out my parents have now tested positive and I still have cold symptoms (even with a neg test).
If I have recovered, can I transmit Covid to my friends from my family having it?

once you test negative your viral load has shrunk significantly. So, you won’t be able to pass on COVID. To make matters harder, the tests aren’t very reliable to start with. My nephew was ill, tested pos for COVID. he stayed at home, too,d his work place. He’d test every four days. Two weeks in and was still getting positive results despite feeling a lot better. Mum is a COVID nut really lol. Even she said to him after two weeks he must be free of COVID despite the test result.
Then, you have my sister recently laid up in bed with all COVID symptoms yet two test she took were negative. 🤷♂️
Like the other person commented I’m over this as I can’t deal with the mixed messages and apparently tests can’t detect one COVID variety thrn they are prone to false pos and beg results.
The only way to cope with this is to go on how you feel inside. Ill, stay put and rest. Feeling well, hang it all and go out. I take the “old fashioned” approach to illness.
That’s okay. This is a worry for all of us. We’ve not known what to do for the best half the time. I’ve come to the conclusion that I use my instincts and listen to my body.
