When my PSA went up to 7 my Urologist did a biopsy. No fun. Found a spot that was analyzed as pre-cancerous. 6 months later PSa is 11 and wants a directed biopsy. I did the MRI to prepare but life got in the way for 5 months. I found out about a 4k test that might show the presence of cancer. If I did that and it was negative, would that suggest that there is no cancer? My PSA was tested last month and now its at 13. Should I skip the 4k test? I asked my GP about it and he had never heard of it.

4k before targeted biopsy?
I had robotic surgery for prostate cancer in 2020 and this is the first I have heard of the 4K blood test. From what I quickly read on google, it sounds like a test that predicts the aggressiveness of the cancer. If it is available to you and you can get the results quickly, I would say why not do it? It's another tool available in the treatment of this disease and would provide you more info. The fact your monthly PSA results are rising makes me suspicious that it is cancer, but it normally is slow growing and it would seem you would have time for this 4K test.
i'd be interested in what the mri showed my psa went up to 10 and i had a biopsy that showed a small amount of cancer in one of 12 cores. have been on ac for 1 year. psa has been up and down. had a prostate mri last month which showed no cancer but prostatitis . urologist put me on antibiotics and psa went down to 6. im pretty sure he does not want to do another biopsy but it seems that i will ultimately given a choice to continue with the wait and see approach or just have another biopsy. i feel that i go to a urologist for advice but in the long run the treatment is up to you. iim speaking of low grade prostate cancer.
