Muscular Biopsy Does It Hurt?

After finally getting to see a neurologists in December last year, I have been told that I must have biopsies, but with little information about what this entails. So I thought it may be useful to know before actually going into hospital

Ask your doctor. You did not give us any details… just a vague statement.

No it shouldn't hurt. Only a small amount of tissue is removed for examination. If it's likely to hurt a local anaesthetic is adminstered or if more major (eg I had a bladder lining biopsy last year) a general anaesthetic is administered.
