Valsartan and erection

I recently started valsartan for bp. I take it at bedtime and wake up early AM with an erection. Has anyone else had this happen? From what I’ve heard it’s usually the opposite.

Most men wake with an erection do they not?

I did when I was younger. Hasn’t happened much lately. Just seems like it’s started since taking valsartan. I’m 66 and have had some pretty major health issues.

Seems like a nice side effect. Enjoy. But if the erections are painful and long lasting, like 2 hours or more, you should seek medical advice.

This is good - the medication opens your blood vessels to reduce the blood pressure, so the erections are a sign that your circulation has improved.
