Hello everyone. My name is James and I’m British. I went to Dubai for Christmas and I caught the virus on the 9th January 2021 and I stayed in a hotel to quarantine for 12 days then I waited further more days to get a negative result. When I got it I returned to UK immediately. I was great the first week since returning on the 24th January but since Monday 1st February I felt SO tired exhausted and lightheaded and a bit dizzy. Has anyone else felt like this since after COVID?? Is it long COVID or what? Hope you can reply!
Thank you! James

COVID is horrible and can last for a long time, everyone’s bodies react to it very differently. It does sound like you could have long covid, in which case it’s really important to continue doing things, I found if you stop doing things completely, like short walks, then it got worse. It’s worth trying to see you GP about it, there may be other things they can suggest as more research is being done. Also of you are lucky enough to live in an area with a long covid clinic they may be able to refer you to them for help. However I will say they still seem few and a far between so don’t be disheartened if you can’t get a referral right away. Just take it day by day and do why you feel you can.
Unfortunately there does not seem to be a set answer for this, every case I have read about have different varying and some on going lengths. As I said it seem to impact everyone different for different lengths of time and with different symptoms. The best thing to do is approach your GP, and to continue doing the best you can too look after yourself, eating a good diet and drinking plenty of water. And keep doing what you feel you can say by day.
The virus is new and there is a lot medical science doesn't know yet. I'd suggest you see your doctor and get another test. Your negative test before leaving Dubai could have been a false negative or you could have been reinfected. Did you travel for business or just to ignore the advice of health officials and take an ill advised vacation?
