I have had two events of blood in urine then none. Then I had a series of bloody stools interspersed with some yellow stools and lighter coloured stools (my stools normally darker brown. Now I get normal looking stools but not the darker shade I have always had. Is low dose aspirin causing this do you think?

Well I have talked to Dr. He has not suggested (yet) that Aspirin may be the cause. I seek others experience not solutions. I am allergic to PPI (taken to protect stomach so I'm told) so if I take Aspirin it's w/o that protection. Thanks for replying.
Are you taking enteric coated aspirin?
It is strange that you have both problems with faeces and urine as they are separate systems. blood in urine is often from a urinary infection or a kidney problem. whereas blood in faeces is from the digestive tract. is your doctor investigating either of your problems?

Thanks for your input. Not coated Aspirin, no. I was under the impression those were not protective as such as once the coating is dissolved the Aspirin gets to work (I only take the Aspirin on recommendation because a scan of head turned up 'minor white matter ischaemia" some years ago). There may be no link between the kidneys and digestive tract but bit of a coincidence though. Apart from a systemic problem I guess it's a red herring. As the urine problem has not returned I'm now ignoring it as the other seems more important. I have had colonoscopy and gastroscopy (specialist recommends no further action needed) now and have Diverticular (all sections of colon) and fundic polyps (stomach) present but they would only account for bloody stool. But in conjunction with the other types I would be inclined to link them together so the tract in that case would not be the culprit. So far I have not had the biopsy result from the left and right sides. I have had a blood test for liver and Pancreas function and seems clear except Dr said Lipase was down 10% and CT scan (I assume the small intestine) is clear. Will contact Dr. later this week to see if the results are in so looking for the right questions to ask to see if there is more investigation to do. Given that I have had no repeat of the bloody or yellow stools last two weeks maybe whatever was there has gone away!

I had very similar experience and posted here several months ago. I started with visible blood in urine then a bloody stool, many tests colonoscapy was clear then refer to urologist for cystoscapy also clear. After that I have occasionally passed visible blood and blood clots at the beginning of a pee, usually 1st piss in the morning. This persisted every couple months for over 3 years. Been tested scoped, mri, ultrasound multiple blood urine tests even cell counting. Nothing found. Interesting the last occurrence of blood and clot was after I had taken over the counter advill and one other time aspirin. As you can imagine I now keep track of everything I take or eat or drink before these bleeding episodes. I have been diagnosed with enlarged prostate and 4.8psa level, the mri shows growth or cyst on the prostate but the biopsy (8samples) were negative for cancer. This was all done before my last bleed with blood clot. I know how you feel such high anxiety just going to the bathroom, also noticed blood on occasion in sperm, still no diagnosis except maybe the enlarged vascular prostate gland. Scheduled another mri for may 2021 to keep an eye on this. Note this started at age 53 and I am avoiding the over the counter medications like aspirin or others that may have blood thining or anti-inflammatory . I like this forum and the information and I will post any results or diagnosis in hopes it can help anyone else. but definitely follow up with DR. and specialist(s).
Thanks all, WB36 not so bothered about urine as the stool blood and yellow ones are the problem atm (I tested urine today and came out good on all counts and not had a repeat yet so not coupling these two together). I have the all clear on colonoscopy and gastroscopy (just polyps and diverticular). So that leaves the small intestine which I don't think can cause yellow stools, blood yes. I think the problem lies up the Bile duct and up. Speaking to the Dr tomorrow to try to put a case for that. Have not had bloody stool now for a while or mustard yellow stool but the colour is still yellow brown with occasional revet to good brown as against my usual dark brown. Worried Pancreas cancer might be putting in an appearance.
The PPI I used was omeprozol. Even the 10mg seems to affect.
There are other PPIs and, if you need one, I would ask to be prescribed one of those. I hope that, by now, you have some answers. Incidentally, the last time I passed blood clots in my urine, I was eventually diagnosed with a 4 cm kidney tumour.
