Fatigue and shaky. What is the root problem?

What is Fatigue? Occasionally I feel lacking energy and feel the need to sit. Sometimes this is accompanied by sort of internal shake. I have heard that the pancreas can cause this if not working properly i.e. one of its outputs is awry.

I have had bloody and yellow stools during last Feb but that seems to have cleared up and test showed no problems in the organs or stomach. Worried that the Pancreas perhaps is developing cancer but Dr says afaik is clear. Maybe Galstones but no direct symptoms there and a liver test is clear.

Anyone advise? many thanks.

Fatigue is a symptom of many health issues both acute and chronic. Given the combination of fatigue with blood in your stools I would keep the situation under review. Have you had an ultrasound, CT scan or other imaging procedure?

Yes, I have had full blood test, CT scan and the camera up and down. The scan and blood came up clear although the Dr said my Lipase was 0.9 instead of 1.0 (I think that implies it was 10% down but he wasn't going to follow that 'at this stage'). He said my Spleen was functioning OK according to blood test. There were no indications of Gallbladder issues. The ..oscopies showed benign polyps in the stomach and the duodenum clear and the colon has diverticular in one area and the bleeding was the 'likley cause'!

I went back later on the Fatigue issue and he gave me a liver function blood test which he did not return on so I assume clear. I have been free of Fatigue for a while now (it only pops up a couple of times a month and the intense ones seem to have died away. SO, maybe whatever it was has healed (touch wood! as I know Pancreas problems can silently creep up).

So currently apart from lighter coloured (but within range of the Bristol chart etc) stools I have nothing to pin down. I have given up aspirin as that could have been the bleed issue (I am hyper sensitive to drugs like Statins and Alpha blockers so wary even of Aspirin).

I am going to request a copy of the blood test results and compare with earlier ones in order to check my diet is healthy. I also think the pandemic has caused the NHS to try to limit referrals so maybe I am not showing definite symptoms to justify further tests. But then if the problem has gone away (occurred last Feb) maybe I should leave it for now.

Thanks.

The lipase result does indicate a pancreas problem but if your CT scan covered that area and showed no anomalies then it may be an early issue. Still, one to keep under review to ensure that any worsening problem gets dealt with at the appropriate time.

Does anyone know what is meant by a reading of 0.9 instead of 1.0 for a Lipase level. Is it just saying 10% low. Normal levels seem to be a range of 0 - 160 U/L which seems a wide range to me! Thanks.

Lipase tests that consistently show low lipase levels, or values below 10 U/L, may indicate the presence of other health conditions that can affect your pancreas. In particular, decreased levels of lipase may indicate the presence of cystic fibrosis or chronic pancreatitis.

Many thanks. Looked at the symptoms of these and nothing matches up. Will keep a check. Again thanks.

Ongoing. I have discovered that the CT scan I had was 3 months before the start of my problems! So I went to another Dr and he has put me in for an Ultrasound of all the organs. This is 6 months in from the problem so I have to wait now for goodness knows how long.

Recently had pale stool followed by hard stools which were somewhat less pale. Dr gave me Laxido/CosmoCol which seemed to work.

However, my condition seems to have settled to constant soft (tending Brown to yellow-brown) stools (Bristol type 5 consistency but loose and bitty) whatever I eat. I am regular (once a day) and have no other symptoms apart from gassy expulsions. I am trying to get more fibre in but doesn't seem to make a difference.

My research leads me to believe I either have a partially blocked Bile system somewhere (the constant changing stool habits) or something worse in the pancreas (yellowish stools) but difficult to asses I know.

Any further input appreciated.
