Hi, I saw a Chiropractor yesterday due to having abdominal pain for a very long time. After losing weight I noticed when I lean back a large bulge pertrudes from the abdomen where i'm getting the pain and discomfort. I rang the doctors and I thinks it's due to me seeing them many times in the past due to anxiety I used to have on my record it says I have a health anxiety so I got fobbed off and the doctor said it's probably your genes. After seeing the Chiropractor who said straight away you have a mild hernia I rang the doctors again and had to battle with the doctor to get checked out which I will be in a weeks time. I thought it could be a henia or possibly a seperation of the abdomen. It's hard to feel whats there due to a layer of fat in the way which I am starting to lose. When I lean back I see whats in the following picture.

It is good that you have got your appointment. It is sad that people can get labelled and then not get the level of care they should expect. If the pain gets bad before you see the doctor, consider ringing 111.
Its very sad. I had the pain flare up a few times over the past 8 years when stressed. Someone recommended a shiatsu guy who confirmed i had an enormous amount of muscle tension in that area so I knew it was muscle related from then on. It's horrle to think how many people don't get properly diagnised if they're viewed to be a hypochondriac due to persistent mental health issues.
Here to help if we can. Always feel free to talk about your anxieties. That, of itself, can often help. Take care.
I used to have servre social anxiety since the age of 13. Thankfully I got over that with counselling. I only really get anxious now when I got the pains as the scary part of it is not knowing why I get it.
Sounds like a Hernia to me, I had a right inguinal one, but I think they can occur in other places as well as inguinal. Dont leave it too long as hernias can become strangulated, needing an immediate op. to fix.
