Covid-19

Hi all

Having survived the virus, I am having problems with exhaustion literally I feel like I can drop after any light exercise.

Strong smells can also affect my breathing, has anyone else found this.

I also feel bad that I was saved and others were not, it’s not easy to hear of all the daily deaths on the TV.

Thanks

Hello hecarrysme ,

I have not, to my knowledge, contracted SARS COV-2 and so I cannot really say anything in relation to the impact on fatigue or smells.

I wanted to acknowledge your other point, however, about feeling bad for having been saved. I cannot empathise with this because I've not had this experience, however I can appreciate what you are saying, both in terms of a sense of unfairness - "How come I survived and another person didn't?" - and the sense of dread from hearing the daily figures shared across all the news channels.

Starting at point two - the daily figures - it sounds as if you feel compelled to listen to these figures. If that is correct, what is drawing you to that information? What solutions have you thought of that would reduce either the need to listen to the news or to personalise the news?

In reference to point one - a sense of unfairness - what would you say to someone else that shared that thought with you? Would you try to rationalise it for them by saying, for example, "Feel blessed for having survived" or "It may be you were in better fundamental health than other people were". Perhaps you might ask the other person if they've ever felt that way before about something similar such as achieving good grades in an exam. I'd be interested to know.

I am happy to hear that you have made a recovery and hope you return to full health as soon as possible.
