Similar to HoLEP - but a different type of Laser (Thulium) that can address large Prostate reduction up to 300g in size. Mine is 220; Can anyone share experience with ThuLEP and its after effects - and how long was it beneficial for your BPH? Satisfied? Anyone had to redo procedure? Recoup time?
I am being given this info from Dr;
Outpatient
Min bleeding
2 days catheter
Any tips to share? HoLEP is similar - but for smaller Prostates...….

I had a HoLEP and it was mostly successful - tho' I suspect I might need a repeat at some point in the future. I was kept in hospital for 2 days due to slight bleeding - usually it is just an overnight stay (apparently).
It was a bit sore for a couple of days afterwards but everything continued to work satisfactorily!
Chris, TU for your experience. How long a time y think for another ThuLEP? 1 or 2 yrs or 5 or more years? Is it because the P continues to grow? I am 69 yrsO. I am told this treatment will be “outpatient” n catheter for 2 days. I realize bleeding or other issue can change the plan. Mike
I was told it is relatively unusual to have to have it repeated. It is 2.5 years since I had my HoLEP - so I'd guess at 3-5 years but that is a bit quicker than I expected.
