Can you burp after having this one surgeon told me I would not be able to and another said I would be able to

Whats the consensus just curious

I had this procedure 20 years ago and never could burp and have been massively bloated ever since just wondering if it the same for everybody

If I could burp all my problems would be gone

When I had mine done in the early 90s, I do not remember a great wind problem. It gets out somehow. What is prevented is being able to vomit. Over time (years) that ability returns.
