Knee Surgery Infected?

Not sure if this is the right place but I had knee surgery 6 days ago. I think the stitches may be infected, they’re swollen, there’s heat coming from the wound and there’s yellow discoloring around the left side of the knee. Any help would be appreciated.

Let me know if I should go to Urgent Care or if I can wait to call my surgeon tomorrow.

I’d call the Dr to be sure.

Had a 100.4 fever but I slept it off. The pain was worse but now the next day it seems to be back to normal. I didn’t have a full knee replacement that would be awful as i’m only 17 haha. I have Physical therapy today so if it gets worse by tomorrow I’ll go in probably. Thanks for your help

Call your consultant immediately. My wife's had the same problem. Will need antibiotics as a minimum of it's infected

Could I possibly send you a more updated picture for you to have a look at and compare to your wife’s? If not I understand.

If you have any concerns regarding your health status after a surgery you should always consult your doctor. The incision seems to be quite big so it wasn't a "minor" surgery (even though compared to heart or brain surgery everything is minor lol) but still. Feeling warmth and swelling after such a surgery is pretty normal. What you should not be having is fevers. If your fever went down after that one night, you should be ok. If not, contact your doctor as that might be a sign of your body fighting an infection and you might need antibiotics.

Good luck
