How many of you out there who suffer from depression feel that there is little or no real help available to us in the short or long term?.First thing is we actually have to recognise what our problem is then it's deciding who we talk to about it and who we can trust! .
It's a massive step admitting that we are suffering from a mental health issue so we make a Dr appointment and talk to the doc,we no doubt get given anti depressants and possibly some odd counselling sessions but that's not enough to be honest, where can we go for a total package of care the overwhelmed NHS cannot hope to provide enough mental health support needed and all the drugs are doing is gradually forcing us to rely on them.
We need an alternative care package that's available to everyone at short notice phone lines that are open 24/7 and access to mental health care not to just be forgotten and left to sort ourselves out.

It’s great to see a knowledgeable member helping with as many topics as you do. I commend you. Can I add though, as I also have done a lot of meditational therapy myself. Admitted myself to highly regarded Australian Private Hospital for better management w/ meds, paths that help. Advice, etc., so I feel confident truly in saying that depression can be something too all consuming for ppl to find even getting on a phone or pc too difficult. Exhaustive. At a low, there’s literally no help available. Or the help is unobtainable because you suffer from a named condition that prevents you from doing almost anything. I’m 46 and only weaning myself off meds now because the memory loss and dystopia have become too much a burden. I want so hard to be regular, and not self loath, have energy to get up in the day to feed myself (a lot).
Best advice to anyone looking to gain even a fraction of a inner smile when everything becomes hard - is exercise and sunlight. Don’t think exercise though, think admiring the plants, trees, architecture perhaps. Can you see my point NOWHARD? This is more for others than you but my mind wanders while I write. Apologies.
Yes. Too aware and not aware enough to be of any assistance. My heart bleeds for those who may live in an area or conditions that negate any type of help. Blackest dog I can imagine.
