Hi hubby is having opp soon with local anastetic can he drive himself home from hosp abt one hour from home many thanks

Probably. If he goes under and is asleep than I'd have someone else drive him. If it is local anaesthetic it should be fine

If a general then the Hosp' will not let him drive and would not be insured anyway. For a local he should be ok, but beware the sight will be VERY sore if the anesthetic has worn off and concentration will not be at it's best. I would say have someone drive him or ask Hospital to arrange taxi, they usually have contracts with firms that have reduced charges.
