Hi, booked I’m for circ this Thursday due to phimosis problem. Leaning towards local anaesthetic rather than general - anybody had it done under local? Was it ok? Much pain? Any feedback appreciated, Thanks

How can general anaesthetic cause linger recovery 😂 recovery doesn’t depend on weather you were awake or asleep

Well I woke up pissed with a sore throat for 30 minutes then I was fine back on my feet and off home so yeah you could add 30 minutes onto your 4/6 weeks recovery time 😂

I had local and I was scared as all Hell. But after they started we were all talking and it was no problem.

I had mine done on 22nd December. Had Phimosis and it’s well worth getting the GA bud. Hope all goes well.

I had local for mine a couple of weeks ago and I strongly recommend that route. I've been under general before and I really don't like the recovery. No issues with local whatsoever.

Had my circ yesterday at 5pm under local and really glad I chose that option. Slight discomfort with the 2 injections into penis but nothing too bad (I genuinely mean that) and over in a minute. Then the procedure was painless and over in approx 30mins with good chat and a bit of banter with my consultant surgeon and theatre staff. Tea and toast afterwards and home by 8pm last night. At the moment not experiencing any pain even though have eased back on painkillers. Was a good bit of bleeding during the night but seems to have stopped this morning. Dressing still in place. So far so good but I guess a still a bit of a journey ahead. Again thanks for all the feedback in advance from people and if I can offer any more feedback to anyone going for the procedure let me know
