I had my circumcism when I was 30. Since then the head of the penis became swallen like a mushroom head. Since then I noticed a massive improvement in my sex life particularly the sensation and prolong hard stroking ability. I certainly recommend others who are seeking this. What you experience is not what all circumcised men experience, but it can happen. The reason is physiological. The glans is normally covered by a thin layer of skin. After circumcision, the "naked" glans (=the head of the penis) developes a slightly thicker layer of skin. This is because the simple continuous slight trauma of your glans into your pants stimulates the skin cells to proliferate in order to "protect" your naked glans. This can change a little bit your feelings and, at least in some men, this reduces the ejaculation reflex and so postpones your urgency to ejaculation. So in some cases, circumcision can make you a "better lover". Moreover, there are clues that circumcision reduces the risk of contracting sexual trasmitted diseases, in particular AIDS. But the decrease of the risk must not induce you not to wear a condom when you have an intercourse that could be at risk of infections! So wear anyway a condom, even if you are circumcised.

Why not circumcise all men if circumcision has so great effects? The current opinion is that circumcision is to be done only when necessary, because otherwise the advantages of circumcision do not overcome the possible side-effects (infections, scarring, reduction of sensibility which can happen in some men -the foreskin is full of sensitive nervous terminations- and so on).

Anyway, the opinions about circumcision can change according to the period and the geographical region. I know for example that circumcision is (or was) much more diffused in the USA that it is in Europe. In Africa, many men require circumcision in order to reduce their risk of contracting AIDS (but I repeat, this is not a way to avoid condom usage in intercourse at risk).

The head of my Penis also appears swollen, as you say like a 'mushroom head'. I had a circumcision some five months ago due to medical reasons. And so far, I have to say I preferred the uncut version. Hopefully things will improve, but I found sex better before.

I find the folds of skin immediately under the head can be a little sore after sex, is this normal or any suggestion how to soothe it ?

Dear Jaglad as you mentioned you have been circumcised just for 5 months which is too early to get a true reflection of it. To get the final result of your scar and the final reform of your penis depends on what method you adopted can take up to a year. I had my free hand method. Once the scar fully settled it looks so great. I found the length of my penis has increased and wearing condom is so easy as no movable sleeve of skin in it. Your penetration power will suddenly become harder and deeper which most women definitely prefer. More importantly you can delay the ejaculation timings as long as your partner prefer. You also mentioned you have been cut due to medical reason perhaps that might be the reason why it has caused you slight uncomfortable??? If you have a fold of skin left near the head which sound you have low cut. If you had high cut it should not have any loose fold. All the best.
