I have to have a circumcision due to medical reasons. Dos anyone know if the UK national health offers you a choice on either a tight or loose and either a high or low type of circumcision? As i have looked into this and would prefer a tight low type of circumcision. I cant find out if this is available on the NHS? ...

Adult circumcision
Hi Jaybee
Much depends on the surgeon doing it. The doctor who is referring you may be able be able to answer this question . I think the answer will be if you want a certain style you will have to have it done by a cosmetic surgeon . Hope every thing go well mate .
Hi i had a Circumcision in Jan due to medical reasons on the NHS
When it had been done and was revealed on the 3rd day i still had enough foreskin to 3 parts cover my glans
Now went i saw the Urologist on consultation it was for reacuring yeast infections leading to phamosis and he said a Circumcision was the way forward
When i saw what had been done i questioned why so much had been left and was told he had taken all the scared tissue leaving the good which left me with a Low/Loose cut
I had an infection at 7 days which left the wound gaping and was put on penicillin
Now i had a review with a different Urologist at 7 weeks and told him i was not happy with how it had been left as i didn't see how it would help with the yeast infections if they were to return (Type 2 Diabetic) and he said because i was not happy with it and the ugly scar that had been left by the infection he would redo the Circumcision giving me a full cut and not a Sleeve section which is apparently what i had been given the 1st time
This i had done 31st March
So my advice to you make it clear on Consultation what you expect from the Circumcision as it is no fun going through it twice even though the op etc itself is no big deal
I was interested to read this, as I too had a circumcision due to medical reasons late last year. I was given a full cut without option, but since reading posts on here I would have preferred the low cut. Your treatment suggests my procedure was correct. I guess we are in the hands of the Professionals and hope all goes well.
If you have the money to go private it's well worth it.
Have you looked at the Thornhill Clinic?
From personal experience it's well worth considering them.
I had my through NHS. But be careful as adult the Doc go through free hand method which sometimes leaves more foreskin. I had to re do mine and the cut is not tidy as well. So if possible go for other Device methodand choose high cut circumcise.
I had a sleeve resection circumcision in October. Although initially a bit of the glans was still covered, 2 months on that's not the case and it's exposed all the time with the scar about 1cm back. It's moderately tight too.
