Some tips from the NHS for healthy and safe Christmas

NHS Choices writes that: "A cocktail of excitement, stress, tiredness and alcohol can create unexpected hazards in the home at Christmas. More than 80,000 people a year need hospital treatment for injuries such as falls, cuts and burns during the festive period."

Incidents are likely to happen in the kitchen, on the stairs, with fairy lights, while putting up decorations, candles, food poisoning and alcohol.

Get everyone out for walks as frequently as possible. It's a great way to alleviate stress, burns calories, improves sleep, builds connections through conversation and helps reduce the likelihood of accidents in the home.
